This is a Special Tour, designed for discerning travelers who seek more adventure, privacy and a slower pace than is possible on Coach Tours. This is a combination tour with 3 to 4 participants in our Escort vehicle and other participants Taging Along in their own or a hired 4WD vehicle. Two to 3 Tag Along Vehicles maybe possible. To run this tour purely as a Tag Along Tour 5 vehicles will be required unless it is a private tour! This 4WD Camping Tour through remote
outback areas is lead by an experienced local Guide.
If you arrive a few days prior to the tours start you
can check out sophisticated Sydney ( or Melbourne ) before you join our
team. After passing through the magnificent Blue Mountains, wheat and sheep
farming and historic mining towns we reach the 600 million year old Flinders
Ranges. Here we also visit an Aboriginal Community ( circumstances permitting) then on the Oodnadatta Track we follow the Old Ghan railway line and skirt the Simpson Desert as we drive through the real Outback and the Worlds largest Cattle Station ( the size of Belgium ). Marvel at Desert Landscapes, sleep underground in Coober Pedy, the worlds most productive Opal Field and drive through the Sand Dunes of this ancient land to the spectacular Painted Desert. Next, after a short distance on the sealed Stuart Hwy we again hit gravel roads until we reach Curtin Springs. We stay 2 nights at Yulara to visit Ayers Rock and the Olgas and then continues to Kings Canyon. Then it's an adventurous drive, partly in the Finke River to our camp site in Palm Valley. We walk in Palm Valley with its unique flora. During our visit to the old Hermannsburg Mission we learn about Albert Namatjira - Australia's best known Aboriginal Painter. Before we reach our final destination we visit the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, camp there and then on to Alice Springs - this Oasis in the Red Centre. Along your journey you will see and come close to Australia's unique wildlife with many opportunities for photos and video filming. You too can be a participant on this adventurous
trip that will be guided by a very experienced Guide with more than 30 years
of experience in Australia's Outback and Deserts.
